职位描述：
Key Elements of Position

·Perform advanced product tool design and development work.
·Use formal technical training to evaluate proto designs and make good technical decisions as appropriate.
·Provide design interface to Program Teams and Design Centers to assure manufacturability of all plastic designs.
·Assist suppliers in startup and production of new and existing products.
·Maintain appropriate project documentation.
·Participate in Peer Reviews for Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering.
·Provide effective leadership and mentoring to less experienced engineers, designers, and Program Team members.
·Prepare oral and written reports for Program Team reviews.
·Procure development and prototype plastic parts. Provide cost estimates, timing, and design direction for PT’s and Design Centers.
·Assist Purchasing with the evaluation of suppliers.
·Use technical expertise to act as a liason between Purchasing, Design Centers, Programs Teams, Customers, and our suppliers.


Qualifications

·Plastics technology degree, or 2 years experience in plastic manufacture and tooling.
·Skilled in use of CAD Design Tools, preferably Unigraphics.
·Thorough knowledge of tolerancing systems; G D & T, variable tolerancing, etc.
·Thorough knowledge of injection mold design and build processes.
·Thorough knowledge of injection molding processes.
·Ability to troubleshoot and correct injection molding problems.
·Knowledge of plastic part design and plastic materials.
·Ability to guide Program Teams and Mechanical Engineering in the efficient design of plastic components.
·Ability to provide cost and timing estimates for programs requiring plastic components.
